I’m Cynthia (marine eyes)—an ambient musician, curator, and artist living in the greater Los Angeles area. cloud collecting is a newsletter featuring 3 question interviews on creativity with women and gender-expansive artists, women of ambient mixes, and marine eyes updates.
July ‘women of ambient’ is here!
I have been curating this mix series for over 3 years and love when the majority of new additions also come from new artists (9 out of 12 this time around)! You can listen to this month’s magic via the Soundcloud continuous mix (just for a little while), BNDCMPR + Spotify playlist (with all the latest additions at the top).
**This mix and all archived mixes from the past few years are available to stream and download for paid subscribers of this newsletter.

endings, beginnings EP
Last month, I shared a new 3-song EP, endings, beginnings. I’m grateful for the collaborations with two of my closest, City of Dawn + zakè. I also shared the title track via streaming as of today!
THANK YOUS AND UPDATES!
Thank you to Alex from Pacific Notions, the dublab radio show Quietudes and Ultima Thule via 2mbs Fine Music Sydney for some radio airplay! Each spin means a lot.
My husband James and I released an awakened souls remix for Dawn Chorus and the Infallible Sea via the amazing UK-based label Sonic Cathedral. Listen here. We went to that ambient shoegaze place we love to visit sometimes and hope you like it.
On July 14th in Pasadena’s Arlington Garden, James and I get to perform music together and separately underneath the wisteria and olive trees in the early afternoon. We are honored to have been invited by the amazing humans over at Living Earth. They are curating mindful sounds in beautiful spaces and are collectively owned and operated by their workers: local musicians, artists, and organizers. We are so excited about this one. Find more details here.
Hope you are all doing well, I look forward to sharing a new creative interview with you next week!
thanks for including qd19 loula yorke with these lovely selections 🙏💛
