Happy IWD + 4 years to women of ambient!
4 years ago, on International Women's Day, I shared a selection of songs celebrating women in ambient music. At the time, I had no idea the series would extend beyond that first month, but soon realized how important it was to continue. Four years later and with a constant flow of inspiration, I’m happy to share a brand-new mix with you today.
The full, continuous downloadable mix (which I pour a lot of love into) is available exclusively for paid subscribers via the Untitled app (a great resource for creatives). The playlist version with selections over the years has now expanded to Tidal and Amazon Music (working on it for Apple Music too). It was due time to move away from just having it on Spotify. Thanks to
for his help on this, and for also being someone who regularly lifts up women in the community. This month includes tracks from 17 artists, including many beloved returning artists and some exciting new discoveries I'm thrilled to share.
Featuring: dalot, Kelly Moran,
, Haunted Disco, Sulci, Nailah Hunter, Jolanda Moletta, Eveline Ypma, taennya, Barbarelle, Pascale Cheron, Eve Maret, , Sachi Kobayashi, , Lara Jones + Anita Tatlow.marine eyes updates
I have a new collaborative song, ‘Saturday Morning’ out with one of my favorite Japanese ambient artists, Rhucle. I loved adding gentle vocals and extra instrumentation. This song is about the joys in an unrushed Saturday morning, taking time to connect to our senses and just be. There are still a few tapes available with the beautiful art from Vivi Maidanik.
Sending gratitude to those who donated to my fire relief fundraiser with the 1st appearance on my Bandcamp of my 2022 single heart held. I have been able to donate $70 to various community outreach causes so far!
In case you missed it, there have been some lovely cc interviews lately with Ella Barnes + Carolyn Zaldivar Snow.
Also, several artists from the mix series today have their own substacks! Follow
